The MVP (know as Shuttle 2000) was first utilized by Nelson in 1983 after one of her former athletes from Houston introduced her to a colleague who had designed the machine for the NASA astronauts. This MVP was first tested to train 5-time Olympian Danielle Scott when she was in high school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Want to follow Scott or learn more about her click here .
Nelson began utilizing the MVP with other youth and Olympic athletes. Former 1984 Olympian Rose Magers-Powell continued to use her own personal MVP and today uses this for your Rocket City Volleyball Club members as well as for her sons training. After accepting the Head Coaching position at IOWA she continued to train the entire volleyball team, as well as some of the women's basketball team members and a few of the Iowa Football running backs by utilizing two machines during training periods. From 2007-2009 Nelson, Director of Volleyball at IAD utilized the MVP Pro for her athletes that were training to play on scholarship in college. She and Selders began working together in 2004 and now have developed a protocol for all volleyball players. This program is now offered at Net Results for any players in the DFW area wanting to become the best jumper they can be!
